Alan Reed - Alnwick Castle, Northumberland
Alan Reed is an established watercolour artist having developed his own distinctive style over the last 35 years. He has exhibited internationally and has received national recognition from The Sunday Times watercolour competition for three successive years. In 2013 he won "The Artist's Prize", awarded by the Royal Watercolour Society. He has taught Art & Design for 30 years and is regularly asked to do watercolour demonstration for Art Clubs as well as holding his own private painting courses and holidays.
Born in Northumberland, Alan was born into a family with a history of painting and he fell in love with watercolours at the age of 15. He trained in art and design at Newcastle College while specialising in graphics and illustration.
