Beryl Cook - Bus Stop

Influenced by Stanley Spencer and Edward Burra, Beryl Cook almost single-handedly promoted the idea that humorous art had real merit. Her paintings immediately struck a chord with the general public and her pictures have been collected and enjoyed for over thirty years. She was awarded an OBE in 1995.

Beryl Cook sadly died in May 2008 at the age of 81 while at home in Plymouth with her husband and her son. Since Beryl’s death her paintings have become even more sought after, her Limited Edition Prints are a great investment opportunity.

Bus Stop takes a humorous view of a group of women on their way out for a night on the town. Boarding the bus dressed in their finest heels and short skirts it’s sure to be a fun night. The characters featured in Beryl Cook’s paintings are always plump jolly figures having fun.  The Limited Edition Print Bus Stop was published in 2006 and is signed by Beryl. With only a few Signed Limited Edition Prints available now by Beryl Cook this print is extremely rare.
