Spring has sprung and Union Art has lots of new artists and artwork to introduce you to. The talented wildlife artist Yvonne Edwards is one of the latest artists to join us. Her portrayal of countryside animals is simply beautiful.
Yvonne Edwards was born in Ealing, Middlesex in 1949, and as a child was encouraged by her father and grandmother to paint. From an early age Yvonne had a love for exploring and spent many hours in the local woods and fields. She was greatly influenced by her Grandmother, a watercolour artist, who passed down her vast knowledge. At the age of eleven Yvonne and her family moved to Dorset where she immersed herself in the local countryside. In the late 60's she attended Bournemouth College of Art and embraced student life. After leaving college she experimented with graphic design, photography and garment making.
Yvonne while raising a family joined a small print company where she quickly had to upgrade her skills to meet the demands of the fast developing print process. In her spare time she completed painting commissions.
After ten years in the printing world it all changed again for Yvonne Edwards. She now finds herself immersed in her painting and is keen to show how her passion for the countryside has influenced her art. This is certainly evident in her Limited Edition Print Running Free which features two hares in action. This edition is limited to only 95 prints so we predict that it won't be available for long.
Yvonne’s art can be found in many private collections throughout the UK. To view her full collection of Signed Limited Edition Prints please go to Union Art.
