Mary Ann Rogers received the award for "Best Selling Published Artist 2009" from The Fine Art Trade Guild. Former recipients of the award include Jack Vettriano, David Shepherd, Beryl Cook and Mackenzie Thorpe. This is a huge accolade, especially because Mary was the first self-published artist to win this award, without the full force of a large fine art publishing house behind her. Mary was delighted to receive this award.
Mary Ann Rogers is a self-taught artist who began painting at a very early age. After leaving school she took a course in Environmental Studies. As a full time artist she combines her love of both art and nature. Mary has become one of the most acclaimed watercolour painters of her subjects in Britain.
Mary Ann Rogers paintings are exhibited regularly in prestigious galleries and at important events such as those held by the Royal Watercolour Society. Her artwork can be found in many private collections in the UK and Overseas.
Her stunning countryside studio, made famous by a T.V. documentary, allows her to paint her subjects direct from life - capturing the briefest moments in time.
The ceiling to floor windows face Northwards, making maximum use of the natural North light, enabling Mary Ann Rogers to observe sheep grazing up the hill and her many feathered subjects feed, strut, mate, fight, and rest before her watchful eye in the garden.
