Louise Dear - Frisson......Love
We are delighted to welcome the well known figurative artist, Louise Dear to our collection of fantastic artists. Louise has been hugely successful over recent years with a lengthy waiting list for commissions and artwork.
Louise Dear was born in Hampshire in 1963, she studied fashion design at Medway College of Art & Design. Louise has travelled extensively, with a spirit of adventure and discovery being instilled in her from a young age. At just 21 years old she set of off on a voyage across Europe and North Africa in a vintage ambulance she had painted honey pink. After returning home she then set off for a three-month trip around India and Australia, returning to England some seven year later. She graduated in 1998 from University College Chichester and since then has been working as a full time artist. Her works have been shown in museums, the Royal Academy, and in exhibitions in England, United States and Australia.
Louise cities multiple sources of inspiration in her art including; Utamaro and the 18th century Japanese artists of the ‘floating world, The Art Nouveau period of the 20th Century and more recently ‘Superflat’ movement of contemporary Japan. Takashi Murakami, Jeff Koon, Paul Morrisson, Lisa Yuskavage and even Walt Disney, all continue to influence her impassioned practice.
Her travels and experiences continue to provide inspiration for her artwork. Louise is passionate about colour and texture. Frisson......Love is a Limited Edition Print of just 50, it is a Silkscreen and Giclée on paper, with gold leaf and high gloss varnish. It's produced on 300gsm minuet cotton rag paper with hand torn edges. This artwork is available as loose paper or exquisitely framed, floated behind museum glass.
