In May this year Becky Mair won the Fine Art Trade Guild’s best-selling published artist award. The award ceremony was held in Harrogate, North Yorkshire on Saturday 11th May. The winners were revealed and presented their accolades during an evening of a gourmet dinner, a Guild Member Artist Exhibition and live musical entertainment. The winners were decided by a combination of judges and industry vote.
Becky Mair, a Mum of three, became a professional artist three years ago after graduating from the University for the Creative Arts in 2004. As a farmer’s wife it’s no surprise that Becky’s chosen subjects to paint are dogs, cockerels and horses. Her abstract method involves drizzling paint directly from a moving pot or tube held above the canvas. The result is of a style similar to the American artist Jackson Pollock. ‘Joey’ is a wonderful example of this execution; the horse is shown here moving freely in a canter. This Signed Limited Edition Giclee Print has an edition size of 150 and is supplied mounted in an acid free mount from UnionArt.
