Davy Brown was born in 1950, he moved to Galloway in the South West of Scotland from his native Ayrshire in 1985. He became concerned with many ecological issues such as erosion and acid rain. In 1996 a near fatal heart attack encouraged him to work towards giving up teaching and becoming a full time painter. He is now considered one of the region's finest talents and his critically acclaimed landscapes are much in demand.
