Judy Boyes lives and paints in the Lake District, surrounded by the fells that inspire her work. Her subjects are found in the quiet corners of Lakeland, and are not the usual tourist views. Stone buildings, rustic village scenes, streams tumbling through hidden valleys - all observed with a keen, perceptive eye and transcribed in a fresh, subtle watercolour style which is both natural and unforced, and admirably catches the atmosphere and changing moods of the area. A member of the Society of Women Artists and the British Watercolour Society, Judy Boyes has exhibited her originals at the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours in London. The Artist magazine has featured her river scenes on its cover and in written articles. | |
