"All these landscapes (because one is dealing here with landscapes even if they are far from the usual cliches of green meadows) have a story in common - the story of their abandonment by man...What Marc Wilson allows us to see is their survival, revealing their intrinsic beauty"(Mouvement French magazine)
Marc Wilson's fine art work is based in the genre of documentary landscape photography. He shows us these landscapes, their raw nature, and their relationship to the human presence that is drawn towards them. Be it the recognition of human figures or the physical trace of human intervention, these images allow the viewer to understand the vastness of the landscape, its natural power and the interaction of man within it.
The journey to this work has evolved through many projects over the last ten years, whilst still shooting to the central theme of his Documentary Landscapes, man's interaction with, and footprint on, the landscape
Marc Wilson is currently working on his new project The Last Stand, with locations all over the UK and beyond.
Marc Wilson has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions including a group show at the Photographer's Gallery in London and internationally in Milan, Grenoble and New York; the inaugural shows at the Back Hill and Now Showing Galleries in London; Art 2001, Photo2005, The Association of Photographers gallery and at the Focal Point gallery in Southend.
