Maureen Jordan grew up in East Yorkshire and studied Exhibition Design and display at Kingston Hull Art College.
She has worked most of her life in London designing shops, exhibitions, offices and refurbishing hotels. All of this involved her creative sense of imagination in order to select colours and materials, anything from rough tiles, knobby fabrics to shimmering silks.
Now as an artist working mainly in pastel, Maureen Jordan's inspiration is still color and texture - old walls, trellises and pots, all of which are used as backgrounds for her floral paintings.
