Art and design were Michael Tompsett's favourite subjects school and he was fortunate after leaving University College London to land a job as a graphic designer at one of London's most prestigious publishing companies. After 12 highly enjoyable years he took the decision to pursue a full-time career creating his own artwork.
The freedom and time to be able to focus solely on his own projects has proved wonderfully liberating. His favourite subject matter is maps. - Maps are a visual representation of the world we live on, a world which is incredibly diverse and Michael Tompsett enjoys looking at unique and interesting ways to depict this diversity.
